As a nation with a long history, Britain has a rich and enduring architectural heritage spanning many centuries and generally referred to using the stylistic period or monarch’s names who reigned during their construction. Medieval, Tudor, Jacobean, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian houses for example are familiar property styles with distinctive features that are retained or often lovingly restored by their owners. In more recent times, in the early 1920s and 30s black and white half-timbered gables and leaded lights created a nostalgic parred down version of mock Tudor. The Paris Arts Decoratifs Exhibition of 1925 promoted the Industrial Age of Modernism, and the amazing discovery in Egypt in 1922 of Tutankhamen’s tomb contributed directly to the flamboyant geometric style of the Art Deco period. Aqata produce a wide range of door types, styles & sizes, and the company’s expert glass etching service includes a wide array of traditional patterns or you can create your own design to provide a completely bespoke solution. In addition, glass can be made-to-measure to fit under a sloping ceiling or awkward space.

The Bow Top door from Aqata is an example of a standard design that has been created specifically for traditional properties. This robust and stylish model features an 8mm glass door with curved top and polished edges; the door frame is enhanced by glass corners with lines that follow the curves of the door and adorned with a double etched design. A finely sculpted towel rail is incorporated into the door and there is also a complementary Side Screen with matching etching to create a complete enclosure. Bow Top door and Side Screen are both available in 3 sizes (760, 800 and 900mm) and the door can be used with an inline panel to fit a wider space if required.

Products range from a simple door, through to a complete corner enclosure or large walk-ins, plus there are various options for the door styles e.g. pivot, sliding or bifold.
