Discovering Trespa’s high pressure laminate cladding provided the answer to a design conundrum for a stylish new residence on the outskirts of Aberdeen.
Steph Craigie and her husband were looking for something different, so after consulting the local authority planners in the area, who wanted the building to be either traditional or more contemporary rather than a run-of-the-mill suburban design, the couple decided on a contemporary look for their new home.
For the external façade, the couple selected a smooth cement render and Trespa Pura NFC cladding. “The architect’s design called for wood linings and whilst we loved the look, we didn’t want the maintenance issue, plus my husband dislikes the grey uneven discolouring of cedar linings,” says Steph Craigie.
They chose Aged Ash, one of the eight Wood Decors available in the Trespa Pura NFC range. “My husband, and also the joiners who did the installation, are very pernickety and so all were delighted with the fixing system that Trespa uses as it ensured that the end result is extremely sharp and precise,” explains Steph Craigie, adding: “It is great to think that this finish will remain the same as it is today for many years to come.”
Trespa Pura NFC is not only aesthetically pleasing but has been tested extensively against weather, impact and UV resistance and comes with a 10 year product guarantee, which includes colour stability. For additional convenience and minimal maintenance, dirt, stains and splashes are simply washed off, there is no need to paint or stain.
