Utilise Wasted Space

Unused areas can add space and value to your home

Utilise-Wasted-Space

Many houses have outside areas such as side returns and passages that can be glazed and incorporated into the main house. A glass extension costs from £30,000 – a good investment if it gives you a bigger kitchen or open-plan light-filled space. Check before you begin, as there are restrictions on how much of your home can be glazed.

Case Study

After living in their London home for 20 years, Jon and Judy Astley wanted to increase the size of their modest kitchen. They worked with Architectyourhome to develop a solution, which incorporated the side return by using it to build a contemporary glass-roofed extension that lets in plenty of natural light. They also added two sets of solid-oak double doors leading out to the garden to help incorporate an outside dining area, while the oak beams in the kitchen are in keeping with the age of the property.
